The forgotten art of producing mead was revived in 1959 by A. Sinkevicius (19085-1989), the former director of the company “Lietuviskas Midus”, in Stakliskes. All mead drinks are made of natural bee honey and berry juice.
The Suktinis mead nectar – is a product, based on an old recipe of A. Sinkevicius.
Its production started in 1963 and it was named after a traditional Lithuanian dance.
The beverage has a lush flavour and a slightly bitter aftertaste.
14 different ingredients, among which one can find various berry juices and natural herbs, make up the flavour.
The drink goes well with meat dishes.
